What is this life if, full of care?
The other day, I got an opportunity to re-read one of my favourite poems, ‘Leisure’ by W H Davies while preparing for some project work.
I am not explaining what’s poem all about but definitely it describes about the businees of human life and we have no time for anything but work, work and more work!
We are too busy to look around what’s happening. The poem instantly makes you realize this, especially the first two lines:
“What is this life if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare?”
We are sandwiched between the webs of the life and we barely have time for ourselves, friends or for our own family.
It also reminded me of another poem where the poet has decribed the present situation of human being:
Saare naam mobile mein hain
Per dosti ke liye waqt nahi.
Yes! Probably, we have become machine man in the age of machine world leaving little space for the human feelings but I am sure we all long leisure inspite of Robert Frost saying:
And miles to go before I sleep.
And miles to go before I sleep.
